Brutal times call for brutal music. That's obvious. But these dark days are also a time for intelligence, originality and music that dares to meddle with cherished blueprints and the moth-bothered status quo. Formed in 2015 in Wichita, Kansas, Parallax are instantly identifiable as a breed apart.

 

With a sound that hurls all manner of disparate elements into the sonic blender, and the intensity and conviction to make the resultant hybrid count, this shape-shifting quartet have steadily forged a reputation as modern metal mavericks, releasing 2021's Album, Awaken, as well as a series of acclaimed EPs and playing countless shows with everyone from Knocked Loose and Suicide Silence to Lorna Shore and Angelmaker.

 

The first new single in over 3 years, “Perpetuated” comes out on June 28, 2024. This is their most potent statement yet, taking influences from bands like Vision of Disorder & The Dillinger Escape Plan. It serves as a new beginning, with Drummer, Clayton Gossett taking over on lead vocals, and co-founding Guitarist, Travis Rickett rejoining the band to round out the chaos.  

 

As they prepare to shake off the shackles of inactivity and erupt into violent life once more, the band’s next move is to take this epoch-shattering storm of sound to the people.
